Phobias are extreme fears. They're irrational and you don’t feel the slightest in control of the feeling of panic and dread that takes hold of you when confronted with or even imagining the situation or object of your phobia.

Needless to say, this can be debilitating and dent your self-confidence. You may make elaborate plans to avoid your fear, wasting precious time and energy, and getting annoyed with yourself in the process. Your rational mind knows that this is ridiculous but you can’t seem to help yourself.
